Arts and Healing Trauma with Creative Expressive Arts
The Art of Healing Through Creative Expression
Dr. Claire Vines, Psy.D. as Artist.
Children externalize difficult thoughts and feelings, through creative expression.
How a child feels effects the child's behaviours, at home and in school.
Many children worry excessively about their parent's separation or divorce. The experiencing or witnessing of negative, hurtful acts during childhood years, will create conflict within the family and in school.
Psychology is designed in a variety of models and individualized, concentrating on the child's interpersonal relationship and in developing improved coping skills.
Psychotherapy is modified to suit the child and adolescent of various age groups, focusing on positive behaviors and motivation.
Children who live with parents experiencing traumatic events, often take on parent symptoms. For that child, this can be a way of staying connected to that parent. Initial conjoint sessions with parens are encouraged. The child can learn to better communicate fears and concerns about the family readjustments.
